Gifts from My list are always happily received and the thoughtfulness and generosity of the givers is truly and genuinely appreciated.
A great deal of thought and care went into creating the following list in order to provide information that you will find both helpful and insightful. I am a highly practical Dominatrix and I do not enjoy shopping simply for the sake of accumulating material possessions. My tastes are fine and I want only items that will serve a functional purpose in My life. I try hard to support mom-and-pop shops, small businesses, and companies whose practices I agree with. Unfortunately, this becomes harder every day with Amazon.com around.
The selections and suggestions provided below are things which I will make use of on a regular -- often daily -- basis. Unless you know Me well, or want to disappoint Me and risk evil consequences, it is wise to stick to My list. To donate to organizations I support, visit My Soapbox. • In an effort to be environmentally conscientious, DO NOT use "gift wrap" options or other extravagant means of presentation, and do your best to avoid unnecessary packaging and excessive use of bags (both plastic and paper).

1) So I can watch specifically for the arrival of your gift and let you know if there is a problem.
2) If there is no paperwork enclosed in the package, which is not uncommon, especially with Amazon.com, I will know who sent the gift.
Shops in My Area
While not required, some individuals like to pick up a gift or token of their appreciation literally on their way to see and serve Me. Following are a few suggestions near My dungeon. However, sadly, all of My favorite nearby "mom-and-pop" shops and small businesses have permanently closed. This started happening before the COVID-19 pandemic due to high rents and the arrival of big chain stores, but the pandemic-related shutdown in 2020 was the final nail in the coffin for many, including several corporate storefronts. Therefore, this section of My Gift List has been whittled down to almost nothing. I will update it as shops reemerge. As of Fall 2025, the most common shops to open in the area are bakeries.
Please, do not bring Me anything from a bakery unless specifically instructed to do so.

Having flowers and plants delivered to Me is a thoughtful and truly appreciated gesture. However, before ordering please check My Calendar to make sure I will be in town and able to enjoy your gift. I love plants, which last longer than floral arrangements. If you bring or have delivered to Me a plant, be sure it requires LITTLE to NO DIRECT SUNLIGHT.

Pratima Ayurvedic Skincare Gift Certificates
I use Pratima's skincare products every day. Therefore, I need Pratima gift certificates on a consistent basis. Specific items I want from Pratima are listed below in the "Needed on a Reoccurring Basis" section. SIDE NOTE: I used to get body treatments in Pratima's NYC spa before she had to make the difficult decision to close the 40+ year old spa segment of her business during the COVID-19 pandemic. I do not think I will find a comparable ayurvedic spa in NYC, but I am looking.
Yoga Studio Membership Fee
$150 for a 1-year online membership, which I plan to start after this website is fully rebuilt (My brick-and-mortar yoga studio permanently closed during the COVID-19 pandemic. I haven’t found a new one yet).
As hard as I try to to avoid Amazon, there are a few small items on My list that I have not been able to find in person at local shops or even during recent travels. They would be nice little gifts for My upcoming birthday on October 10.

Gift Cards & Gift Certificates
When presenting Me with Gift Cards & Gift Certificates, I have some suggestions for items I appreciate, but also PLEASE NOTE:
• Do not put any identifying information for either of us on Gift Cards and Certificates, such as e-mail addresses.
• Leave the "Recipients Name" on the gift card or certificate BLANK, if possible. If a name is required, use "TROY." If a second/last name is absolutely necessary, for example during online purchases, use "M TROY" or "M. T."
• Leave the "Message" area BLANK or fill in with a short generic message, something like: "Enjoy!"

DELTA AIRLINES: Physical gift cards (as opposed to e-gift cards) purchased online, in Delta Sky Clubs, or in brick-and-mortar shops.
AMAZON.COM: not My first choice, but I know people find it convenient and I can usually find something, including dungeon supplies.

General Suggestions
PHOTO SHOOT
Generally, a professional photography shooting costs Me at least $1,000 for the photographer (additional if I use a make-up artist), a day without sessions, and several hours of My time for editing and posting the pictures online. I get new pictures taken as My schedule and budget allow, which is not often. If you wish to see new pictures more frequently, a gift of cash to be used for the photographer is an excellent idea! It will be greatly appreciated and very helpful. If you send $1,000 or more, you will be allowed to have a say in what I wear and show in My next photo shoot.

SHOES & BOOTS
I will occasionally add a specific pair of shoes or boots to this list. The size I need can vary within a 1.5 size-range depending on the style and/or brand. Therefore, a shopping trip is the surest way to acquire the boots and shoes I want and with the perfect fit. Generally, My size is: 9 US/8 British/38.5 Italian. In open-toe shoes I often wear 1/2 to 1 size smaller. Manhattan has many shoes shops, but one place with a large and varied selection is:

BOOKS & MUSIC CD'S
Yes, I still want CDs. I like to have a hard copy of My favorite music. I am old-school and I listen to My music primarily on an iPod connected to speakers via a wire. My wireless speakers are not reliable within the thick walls of My dungeon. Plus, I do not like paying a monthly fee for a subscription to hear music. Like I said, “old-school.” Any CDs I currently want are included on My Amazon.com Wish List named "Mistress Troy NYC Dominatrix Wish List."
Buying and gifting Me used books and CD's, in good condition, is encouraged.
BEESWAX CANDLES

Styles I want include: Dinner Tapers, 10” height preferred. Pillars & Columns, 2" or 3" diameter; any height, but the taller the better. Hand-Rolled 3in Beeswax Pillars, any height, but size 3x8 is preferred. There is almost always at least one style I like on Beelite Candles’ SALE page.
TEA
I only drink hot tea and I do not enjoy iced tea. I prefer organically grown tea. Both loose leaf and bagged tea are acceptable, although loose leaf is preferred. You can find tea at specialty shops, online, and in health food stores. I DO NOT like Black Teas, Earl Grey or English Breakfast. The types of teas I like are Green Teas, including Gunpowder tea, White and Oolong Teas, and Mint and Herbal Blends.
SPECIFIC TEAS I like that you can purchase online include Avena Peaceful Heart Tea and Aveda Comforting Tea Bags.
DARK CHOCOLATE (No milk chocolate)
I enjoy a few, very specific kinds of chocolate. Please do not surprise Me with any candies, sweets, or chocolates not listed or described below:

NO COFFEE
I do not like the taste or smell of coffee. Do not get Me anything that has the flavor or scent of coffee, mocha, cappuccino or espresso.
NO WINE or other alcohol
Due to lingering effects of a COVID infection (damaged sense of smell and taste), wine currently is not enjoyable to Me. Therefore, I am not accepting gifts of wine at this time. If the situation changes I will update My Gift List.
FRAGRANCE
I do not wear fragrance so I am not interested in receiving any perfumes or colognes. However, I do use various essential oils and I will experiment with any that I receive. You may also send/bring Me Pratima's Anti-Stress Aroma Oil, which I use similarly to a perfume.

Gift List Anecdote — Why to stick to My List
As described at the top of this page, I am pragmatic and that means I do not want gifts for which I have no interest or use. Over the years a few well-meaning submissives have presented Me with gifts which were incredibly baffling to Me. Clearly they were unaware of My public Gift List or they did not make the effort to study it or get to know a little about Me. One submissive proudly proclaimed that he wanted to "stick out from the crowd by ignoring My gift list and surprise Me with something different." He did indeed make an impression -- I wanted to smack him with his "surprise" and not in the good way.
I can be cruel, but I am not heartless. Unwanted items have been mostly politely accepted, although some get a good chiding. All have been given away, recycled, sold, or may even be tucked away in the back of My closet somewhere. This is unfair to the giver and receiver and does not make for good feelings on either end.
Not too surprisingly, the people who have not paid attention to this Gift List or any other part of My website no longer enjoy the opportunity to see and serve Me. Be wise and stick to My List.
